After rolling out the Expert RAW app for the Galaxy S21 Ultra in November 2021, Samsung plans to bring the app to more of its devices.
If you missed the bus, Samsung’s Expert RAW app gives users granular controls over the camera of their Samsung devices. Well, this feature is only available on Galaxy S22 Ultra and Galaxy S21 Ultra, at the moment.
Only high-end flagship models to get the Expert RAW app
According to a Publish on Samsung’s official forums in South Korea, the Expert RAW app will be available for more Galaxy devices from February 25. This is also when the app will move from beta to stable.
This would excite photography enthusiasts as they can now change the camera settings according to their needs and capture the best shots possible. The forum post didn’t mention anything specific about which Samsung phones will get this Expert RAW app, but it was clarified that only high-end flagship models will get it.
So, taking inspiration from that, it might be released only for high-end phones like Galaxy Z Fold 3, Flip 3, Galaxy S20 Ultra, and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra. The company can also take a look at other flagship devices from the past two years and assess whether they can support the Expert RAW app or not. This is not the final list, and we are still waiting for the official list.
Galaxy A series phones are also unlikely to pick up the Expert RAW app. Not even the Galaxy A72. Samsung has promised to announce the list of supported devices by February 25. So stay tuned for that.
