New season of events at the Millennium Forum in Derry

The new lineup promises a summer full of fabulous shows to entertain local audiences.

The new season opens with the highly anticipated return of Imelda May arriving in May for her signature concert as part of the City of Derry Jazz and Big Band Festival. There’s plenty of live music to suit all musical tastes, as The High Kings and Clannad return for their rescheduled shows in May. Derry band The Undertones return to the Forum stage in June, while the legendary Daniel O’Donnell performs again for two shows later in the season.

Internationally acclaimed show Celtic Woman makes its Forum debut in August. This Grammy-nominated show has already been a massive global hit, and local audiences are in for a treat when it’s only coming for one night.

Six is ​​a new traveling musical about the Six Wives of Henry VIII and will come to the Forum this summer.

As usual, there will be plenty of comedy with Alan Carr and Tommy Tiernan both presenting their new shows in May while Joe Lycett and Dylan Moran arrive in June. The hilarious comedy-drama, Menopause The Musical 2, is back to keep everyone laughing this May. The new cast features Benidorm’s popular Crissy Rock on TV in this hilarious show.

Young audiences will be delighted with the welcome return of Peppa Pig as she brings her friends for a fun show in June. Meanwhile, the whole family will enjoy High School Musical in July, from local theater group The Grove.

The city’s youngsters will be well catered for this season with the welcome return of the popular Interact Youth Arts Festival and the Forum’s youth musical, The Phantom Of The Opera.

Theater fans will enjoy John B Keane’s The Field in May, while In The Name Of The Son makes its Forum debut in July, telling the story of Gerry Conlon of the Guilford Four after his release from prison in 1989.

The Forum is also delighted to welcome this summer SIX, the hottest new musical on the Six Wives Of Henry VIII. This multi-award-winning musical has already thrilled audiences in the West End and beyond with its high-energy pop soundtrack and sassy queens.
