Fiserv Forum Receives Gold Certification from US Green Building Council
MILWAUKEE, Wis. — The US Green Building Council on Friday awarded Fiserv Forum LEED Gold certification.
LEED stands for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design. The arena achieved LEED Silver certification in 2019.
“The Milwaukee Bucks have taken the opportunity to ensure that Fiserv Forum provides a more sustainable, energy efficient and healthy environment,” Fiserv Forum General Manager Dennis Williams said in a statement. “We are very proud of our efforts and our stewardship in the community.”
The arena operates to monitor energy, waste, and water usage using the Arc platform. The platform shows building owners the carbon impact associated with a building’s performance over time. The platform also assigns a score from 0 to 100, which can change from year to year.
“Fiserv Forum’s LEED certification demonstrates tremendous leadership in green building,” said US Green Building Council Chairman Mahesh Ramanujam. “Fiserv Forum is a great example of how the innovative work of project teams can create local solutions that help make a global difference.”
The Fiserv Forum’s most recent score was 75, earning it LEED Gold certification. In addition to monitoring energy efficiency and water conservation, the arena also monitors air quality. Officials said the arena will also explore ways to reduce waste in the future.
