Entry Deadline: NC State eGames Startup Contest

Entries are live for this year’s eGames, an annual pitching competition for NC State student-run businesses. The program divides student presentations into a “think” category (businesses at the idea stage) and a “do” category (startups that already have a product and customers). Each year, eGames awards approximately $100,000 to winning companies.

Duke Cyber ​​Pitch Competition

As part of its Cyber ​​Policy program, Duke University’s Sanford School of Public Policy is hosting a Cyber ​​Pitch competition for students with business ideas in the areas of cybersecurity, data protection, online privacy and security. Selected individuals or teams will pitch their business to investment experts for a chance to win $25,000 and other prizes. Winners will also receive a grant from Paladin Capital, a Washington, DC-based investment firm.

The NC IDEA Foundation is offering two startup grant opportunities this season: NC IDEA MICRO is offering $10,000 project-based grants to entrepreneurs looking to validate and advance their ideas. NC IDEA SEED offers $50,000 grants to start-up companies with a proven concept, enabling them to scale faster, win customers and attract more investment.
