Busy month: Triangle headliners for January events and programs

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK – WRAL TechWire keeps tabs on the latest and greatest meetups, panels, workshops, conferences, application deadlines, and everything happening in the entrepreneurial, technology, and business communities of the Triangle and North Carolina.

Here is a list of January events in Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill and the greater Triangle area. Many events will take place in person as some organizers return to live events.

NC TECH Government Supplier Network

NC TECH’s Government Vendor Network is a forum for member companies interested in doing business with the state government.

Application Deadline: 2022 UNC Innovation Pilot Awards

This annual program provides internal pilot funding to researchers and research teams at UNC Health and UNC School of Medicine for healthcare innovations. Up to four awards of up to $50,000 each will be unveiled in March.

Luncheon: Powering the Edge

NC State Make-A-Thon

At NC State’s Make-A-Thon, teams of students will be tasked with creating the best solution to a sustainability challenge. Then they will pitch their ideas to local judges for a chance to win between $500 and $2,000 in prizes. The deadline for registration is January 16.

Triangle ComSciCon 2022

January 29, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (online)

During this two-day virtual conference, attendees can improve their science communication skills, network with other graduate students, learn from expert writers and professional science communicators, and produce original writing for publication.

Application Deadline: UNC KickStart Commercialization Grant Scholarships

This program offers grants ranging from $5,000 to $50,000 to help early-stage startups bring their products to market. Applications are live for the Spring 2022 funding round.
