TYLER, TX – Austin Bank unveiled architectural designs for a new 23,000 square foot downtown Tyler multi-level financial center and mid to late Q3 breakthrough projects.

With a plan to consolidate Tyler’s commercial lenders into one establishment, Austin Bank purchased the Forum Building property at the corner of Front Street and Broadway. Gateway to downtown Tyler, the Forum Building will provide the space to incorporate a first-class commercial lending center with a state-of-the-art retail banking office. Plans for the design of the new building were unveiled at a reception inside the Forum Building on Tuesday, May 12.

“Austin Bank’s commitment to Tyler spans over 30 years,” commented Chairman of the Board Jeff Austin, Jr. “Our first Tyler office opened in 1984 and with growth Continuing, we opened five additional locations across the city. Our new downtown bank, led by Smith County Regional President Steve Wiggs and Retail Market Manager Maria Davenport, will further strengthen the Bank’s presence and commitment to the Tyler community. “

Tyler Economic Development Board President and CEO Tom Mullins added “Tyler and in particular downtown Tyler are very fortunate to have this major new banking facility in our community. It will be a nice addition to the heart of the city and will bring high quality jobs with us. We are delighted that Austin Bank has made the decision to invest here.

The main entrance to the bank will face Broadway with ample parking for customers. An ATM will be located along Front Street and a new training facility will be built at the corner of Spring and Front streets. The SLI Group, Inc. of Houston, a commercial design / build company, will also serve as the general contractor and completion is slated for late spring 2016.

“The success of Austin Bank is in large part due to our ability to stay true to our community-driven principles while providing leading-edge technology and convenience,” said Vice President Jeff Austin III. “This new banking center combines technology and our legendary customer service to deliver the financial solutions our customers want and need.”
